Manasthali's initiatives and events for mental health awareness
An Annual Event by Manasthali!
Manotsava 2022 marked the very first edition of Manasthali’s public-facing mental health festival ,a pioneering step towards bringing conversations...
about the mind out of clinical corridors and into the heart of society. Created by Dr. Jyoti Kapoor, the festival was designed to make mental health accessible, relatable, and deeply human. The event emphasized a simple truth: the mind is powerful, complex, and central to our lived experience. For generations, mental health has been misunderstood or overlooked, even though it affects every aspect of wellbeing. Manotsava 2022 sought to change this narrative by encouraging people to “mind their mind” not as an occasional practice, but as a vital part of everyday life.Centered on an integrative approach, the festival brought together experts from modern medicine, psychology, traditional healing systems, music, theatre, dance, and arts. The Continuing Medical Education (CME) program opened meaningful dialogue between medical and holistic practices, while cultural experiences reminded participants that life is not only about coping — it is also about celebrating. With open discussions, artistic expressions, interactive sessions, and immersive activities, Manotsava 2022 created a space where science met culture, and wellbeing became a shared community priority.
Manotsava – Man ka Utsav is Manasthali’s signature Mental Health & Wellness Festival, conceptualized as a celebration of the mind, body, and spirit.
After its resounding success in the inaugural year, the festival returned in 2023 with a deeper purpose — to explore how our five senses can become gateways not just to pleasure, but to profound balance, awareness, and wellbeing. The idea to take mental health out of the shadows and into community celebration began with Manasthali’s mission to integrate modern medicine and traditional wisdom. The 2023 edition carried this mission forward, uniting professionals from across healthcare disciplines and members of the public in a shared space for learning, healing, and creative exploration.
The event focused on creating dialogue around how workplaces, educational institutions, and social spaces can nurture mental well-being...
The week-long celebration, beginning October 5, featured interactive panel discussions with thought leaders from education, corporate, and social sectors, along with mentors, political representatives, and mental health advocates. Each conversation was streamed live on Instagram, making it accessible to a wide audience and fostering open discussions on mental health at work and beyond.Through meaningful conversations and collaborative participation, Manotsava 2023 emphasized that wellness is not just an individual pursuit but a shared responsibility across all professional and social domains.
MannShakti is Manasthali’s heartfelt initiative to bring women healthcare professionals together in solidarity, learning, and celebration. The event opens with a powerful address by Dr. Jyoti Kapoor, followed by Mann संवाद, a thoughtful panel discussion where women experts explore key psychosocial and health issues—from challenges faced by working women and the neglect of caregivers’ mental health to navigating abuse, supporting women within the medical community, and strengthening healthcare access for the LGBTQ population. The program also features Manasthali’s wellness experience “MAYA” (Music–Art–Yoga–Awareness), led by Dr. Shambhavi Das, offering a soulful blend of sound, movement, and mindfulness. The evening concludes with a warm networking dinner and the prestigious MannShakti Awards, honoring women in medicine and wellness who uplift, empower, and advocate for others. At its core, MannShakti redefines strength by acknowledging that women have long nurtured everyone but themselves—this initiative creates a space where they can support one another, prioritize their own wellbeing, and celebrate the unique, resilient power of femininity.
On 12 October 2025, Manasthali hosted a special Instagram Live event aligned with the global theme “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes & Emergencies,” highlighting the urgent need to preserve mental health support even in times of crisis. We invited our community to respond to the theme through creativity—art, poetry, music, stories, or drawings—embracing the idea that within every crisis lies the spark of creation. The live session opened with Dr. Jyoti Kapoor and the Manasthali team, who framed the significance of creative expression when access to services is disrupted, showing how art becomes a bridge from crisis to emotional release, and toward healing. We celebrated participants by announcing winners, inviting them to share their creations, and reflecting on how their work transformed adversity into meaning. A thoughtful discussion followed on mental health in emergencies, the role of community, and the responsibility we share in building supportive environments even during difficult circumstances. The event concluded with a reminder that wellbeing is not dependent on stable times alone—creativity, connection, and collective awareness can sustain us when formal systems fall short. The outcome was a celebration of individual expression and shared resilience, reinforcing that healing is stronger when experienced together.
